Valery Gergiev and the London Symphony Orchestra concert

On the 13th and 14th of December, 2012 Luxembourg was visited by the famous conductor and the Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for St. Petersburg, Valery Gergiev. Leading the London Symphony Orchestra, the maestro performed two symphonies of the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski and Brahms’s Fourth Symphony. This gave great pleasure to the audience, among who were representatives of the Luxembourg establishment and diplomatic circles. The Ambassador of Poland with his wife and the Russian Ambassador M.L. Entin and his wife also attended the concert.

After the concert the Russian Ambassador met with the great conductor and in a friendly atmosphere they discussed plans for the development of cultural cooperation between Russia and Luxembourg. Valery Gergiev has confirmed his intention to present a series of concerts in Luxembourg in 2014 as part of the Days of Culture of Russia.
