Ambassador Mark Entin visits the European Investment Bank
On September 2, 2013 Ambassador Mark Entin visited the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Established under the treaty of Rome in 1957 and created in 1958, the European Investment Bank (EIB) is the European Union’s long-term lending institution. As a policy-driven Bank, the EIB supports EU priority objectives, notably European integration and social cohesion, through its financing operations.
The main purpose of the meeting with Russian diplomat was given to the cooperation between the Bank and the Russian Federation. Dr. W.Hoyer, President of EIB, W.Molterer, Vice-President of EIB and H.Olbers, Director for Eastern and Central Asian neighbors of EIB, spoke of the positive dynamics in the development of relations with Russia. They referred to the progressive collaboration on EIB projects.
For its part, the Russian Ambassador expressed the interest in increasing investments in Russian projects.
