EWUB Luxembourg Trophy 2014


The second edition of the international rhythmic gymnastics tournament “EWUB Luxembourg Trophy 2014” takes place on May, 29 and June, 1 in Munsbach, Luxembourg under the patronage of the Rythmic Gymnastics Federation of Luxembourg, Ministry of Sports of Luxembourg and is supported by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Luxembourg.  Around 200 gymnasts from 17 countries will compete in the tournament, organized by “Rythmo-Cats” and “Rythmica-Lux” clubs.

Invaluable support in organization of the tournament was provided by the Federation of  Rhythmic Gymnastics of Russia and personally by its president Irina VINNER-OUSMANOVA. The second year in a row Larisa SIDOROVA, the judge with international brevet, member of the trainer’s committee of the Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics of Russia, will honor the tournament as Chair of Judges’ Panel. The guest of honor is Tatiana GORBUNOVA, Olympic Games champion (2008 — Pekin), the holder of two  World Champion titles and three European Champion titles. At present she is the director of the Center of Olympic Training in rhythmic gymnastics. Amongst participants of the tournament you will find the team from the Center of Olympic Training, the members of the national team of Russia in group exercises (juniors) and in individual routines – Arina and Dina Averina.

The national team members of Norway, gymnasts from the School of Olympic Reserve of Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine as well as the strongest German teams will compete this week-end at the “EWUB Luxembourg Trophy”.

Same as last year, the competition of nationals from the Small States of Europe is integrated into the “EWUB Luxembourg Trophy” tournament. This initiative is a call for attention of the sports community in order to have rhythmic gymnastics discipline included into the program of the Games of the Small States of Europe.

The competition facility is provided by the town hall office of Schuttrange, represented by the mayor Mr. Nicolas Welsch.

The initiative belongs to the administration of the rhythmic gymnastics club “Rythmo-Cats”, represented by the club’s president Mr. Ed Sauer and club’s vice-president Mrs. Aliona Iampolskaya-Revenko. Since its opening two years ago, the club unites 150 children of various ages and never ceases to promote the rhythmic gymnastics in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well as beyond its borders.
