Moscow delegation visit to Luxembourg
From 12 to 13 December 2013 the delegation of Moscow city headed by Sergei Cheremin, Minister of Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Foreign and International Economic Relations, visited Luxembourg. This visit was eventful and fruitful. The members of the delegation were received by Etienne Schneider, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Minister of Internal Security, Defense Minister, Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance, Gaston Reinesch, Governor of Luxembourg Central Bank, Nicolas Mackel, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, Lydie Polfer, Mayor of Luxembourg City. Sergei Cheremin also met HRH Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg and this in the presence of the Russian Ambassador in Luxembourg Mark Entin.
A presentation of investment and economic opportunities of the city of Moscow was organized for Luxembourg entrepreneurs and financial circles. This event has attracted much interest of the Luxembourgers. The agreement on cooperation between Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce was signed. It was agreed to continue the exchange of economic and financial missions of the representatives of both countries. The Luxembourg side offered an assistance of its experts in the establishing of the International Financial Centre in Moscow.
Sergei Cheremin conveyed congratulations of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin to Lydie Polfer on her appointment as the Mayor of the city of Luxembourg and his invitation to visit the Russian capital. Both sides agreed to begin working on a document on cooperation between the two capitals.
