Russian Ambassador meets the chiefs of the Russkiy Mir Foundation
February 26 Mark Entin, Russian Ambassador in Luxembourg held consultations in Brussels with Vyacheslav Nikonov, President of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Peter Skorospelov, Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and Vasily Istratov, First Deputy Executive Director.
They discussed the activity of the Russkiy Mir Foundation in order to promote Russian language and culture abroad, to help Russian compatriots worldwide, to share true information about domestic and foreign policy of Russia. The importance of those efforts was stressed by the participants. The high efficiency of the Russkiy Mir Foundation activities is due to its commitment to develop cooperation, partnership and friendly relations with the leading universities and research centers.
The discussions pointed out on that the activity of the Foundation could be required by Luxembourg due to its rapidly developing university science, to its interest in the Russian language, to an active Russian-speaking community. A mutual understanding was reached that the Foundation will examine a possibility of extending of its activities to the Grand Duchy.
Then the Ambassador examined with Archpriest Antony Ilyin, European representative of the Russkiy Mir Foundation routine interaction issues and common next steps.
