Tambov region delegation visits the Documentation and Research Center on the forced enrollment of the Luxemburgers in the German army

During its stay in Luxemburg the delegation of the Tambov region, headed by the Governor Oleg Betin, visited the Documentation and Research Center on the forced enrollment of the Luxemburgers in the German army.

The members of the Russian delegation were given a very warm welcome. The meeting was attended by Luxemburg veterans who deserted from the German army and found themselves in the land of Tambov. An informal exchange took place on how to preserve the historical memory and on Russia’s role in the liberation of Europe from fascism.

Russian Ambassador Mark Entin, the Governor of the Tambov region Oleg Betin, the representatives of the Luxemburg veterans’ organizations laid a wreath at the monument to the victims of the Second World War. The Luxemburgers expressed their gratitude to the Tambov region and the Russian side as a whole for preserving the memory of the Luxemburgers who died on the Russian soil.
