Tambov region Governor Oleg Betin visits Luxembourg
The Governor of the Russian Tambov region Oleg Betin arrived in Luxembourg on June, 30 in response to an invitation extended by the Duchy’s Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker. The visit builds upon historically close ties between Luxembourg and Tambov.
Governor Betin is heading a sizeable delegation representing the region’s social, scientific and education domains; businesses and local administration. Among its members are the President of the Tambov State University V.Yuriev, the President of the Tambov Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry N.Kalinov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tambov Regional Employers Association. Also present are the heads of Tambov regional clinical hospital and children’s hospital.
The delegation’s busy agenda includes an audience with His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri, an exchange of views with the Prime-Minister Jean-Claude Juncker and with the Chamber of Deputies President Laurent Mosar as well as the government’s leading ministers. The expected key event is a discussion on expanding bilateral economic cooperation and implementing tangible commercial projects, which is to be held at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
The politically-significant part of the visit will take place at the Luxembourg Centre for Documentation and Research of Resistance and Forced Conscription.
