The concert of famous Russian violinist Alena Bayeva
On December 7th, 2013 at the Russian Embassy was held a private concert of the famous Russian violinist Alena Bayeva.
The guests included representatives of the diplomatic community, scientific and cultural circles, prominent entrepreneurs and bankers.
The honorable guest of the evening was His Royal Excellency Prince Guillaume – brother of Grand Duke Henri.
The invitees experienced great aesthetic pleasure, got a chance to see real art. The whole room applauded the artists. All spectators expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event and the Embassy.
Alena Baeva is one of the brightest rising starts of violin playing in Europe now. She is enjoying success in the best concert halls on all continents, and invited to collaborate with orchestras such as Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, German Radio Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Danish Royal Opera and many others.
Her recent performances of Beethoven with Wiener Kammerorchester and Mozart with English Chamber Orchestra were of big success and were met with high critical acclaim. She is collaborating with Valery Gergiev, with the next concert under his baton in Salle Pleyel in Paris on February 16th, (performing Schostakovich violin concerto n.2).
Alena Baeva was born in 1985 in a musical family. At the age of five she began studying the violin and after Moscow Conservatory she was invited by Mstislav Rostropovich to train in France. At various master-classes she has studied under Ida Gendel, Shlomo Mintz, Boris Garlitsky and Maxim Vengerov.
The musician frequently takes part in various festivals, among them December Evenings and Virtuosi of the 21st Century (USA), the Seiji Osawa Academy (Switzerland) and festivals in Vienna, Athens, Istanbul, Israel, Brazil. She has given acclaimed recital performances at the festivals Violin in the Louvre (France), Ravinia in Chicago (USA), the Juventus festival and the festival in Menton (France).
Alena Baeva has a rich range of recordings made on radio and television in Belgium, Germany, Israel, Poland, Japan, Portugal, Russia and the USA.
Laureate of many international competitions, Alena plays Stradivarius violin from Russian State collections of unique musical instruments and currently lives in Luxembourg.
