3,500 evacuees in the Amur region

Nearly 3,500 people were evacuated in the Russian Amur region (Far East) experiencing major flooding, reported on Sunday the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

«A total of 3,500 people, including 1,800 tenants flooded homes were evacuated,» the MES.

According to the Ministry, 28 communities in the Amur region and 75 road sections with a total length of 300 km and 29 road bridges are now affected by the floods.

142 temporary shelters have been opened in the area to accommodate the evacuated residents.
