Participation of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the 11th ministerial meeting of member states of the Asia-Europe Meeting
On the 11 November, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov participated in the ministerial meeting of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in New Delhi, which was held under the slogan “ASEM: Bridge to Partnership for Growth and Development”. They had an interested exchange of opinions on the issues of development of their interaction with the ASEM in the interests of recovering the global economy, and strengthening international peace and security.
In his speech at the forum, Sergey Lavrov emphasised the demand for the development of the Russian presidency of the G20 aimed at the strengthening of food security, stimulation of investments, construction of modernsecurity architecture, development of human capital and creation of new jobs. The minister also stated the position of Russia in a range of topical international and regional problems, primarily the situation in Syria, Afghanistan, around Iran’s Nuclear Programme and in the Korean Peninsula.
