« Elephant parade » in Luxembourg and Trier
This summer the cities of Luxembourg and Trier will hold the “Elephant parade”. From July to October their streets will be decorated with statues of elephants (85 overall) by designers from Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands and Thailand. The means gathered once these art objects are sold will be transferred to charity programs — helping Asian elephants.
In the last years “Elephant parades” were held in such cities as London, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Milan, Singapore etc.
This year Xavier Bettel, mayor of Luxembourg-city, granted his patronage to the exhibition. The Parade will give the capital-city a good chance to attract international attention, he said.
Luxembourg business circles will ensure the sponsoring of this event.
