Etienne Schneider in the United States and Canada
The Hereditary Grand Duke and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Etienne Schneider, began yesterday a visit to Canada and the United States. During their stay, which will end next Friday, the two officials will have working meetings with leaders of major U.S. industry groups that also established in Luxembourg. In Canada in Bolton (Ontario) they will meet top managers of Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. In the United States several stops are planned, including in the states of Michigan (Troy, Auburn Hills and Plymouth), Ohio (Akron) and Delaware (Wilmington), where they will have talks with the management of Delphi Automotive PLC, Guardian, Goodyear, DuPont and Plastipak. The purpose of these meetings is to show to the leaders of these major groups, which are important employers in Luxembourg, an interest of the Luxembourg Government for assure sustainability of the Luxembourg industrial site and discuss with them the development of their industrial commitment in the Grand Duchy. The point is also to confirm their government’s willingness to create the necessary conditions for that Luxembourg remains a powerful and attractive industrial site.
The Hereditary Grand Duke and Minister Etienne Schneider will also meet the management of the PolyOne company in Avon Lake in northern Ohio. PolyOne is active in materials and technologies and manages its European operations from its regional headquarters in Luxembourg.
The last stage of the mission will lead the delegation to New York and New Jersey where they will meet the leaders of two companies involved in the logistics services.
