Jean Asselborn at the Council of «Foreign Affairs» in Brussels

The Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, attended the Council of «Foreign Affairs» (EAC) of the European Union (EU) on July 22, 2013 in Brussels.

The Council of  «Foreign Affairs» began his formal session with an introduction by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Common Security Policy Catherine Ashton, on the latest developments in Myanmar. She then reported on the concept of «EU water diplomacy» which aims to connect instruments and policies and improve the coordination of external action in the field of water in order to involve more effectively in areas where the problems of sharing water resources may become a source of conflict and tension.

The 28 foreign ministers of the EU then discussed the issues affecting the African continent.
