The Luxembourgish Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, chaired General Affairs Council of the EU which was held on the 17th of  November in Brussels.

Preparation of the European Council on the 17th-18th of December was in the center of  discussion during the meeting. Jean Asselborn characterized the upcoming European Council as «important», as it will focus on migration crisis, fight against terrorism, problems of single market formation, relations with Russia and Ukraine as well as «it will also become an opportunity to listen to the British Prime Minister’s proposals on the referendum in the UK and to have a first substantial views exchange in this regard».
