Luxembourg animators awarded with a Cesar Award
February, 22. The Cesars, the prestigious French cinema award, were handed out on Friday evening in Paris. The sole prize for animated film (shorts and features are combined into a single category) was presented to the feature film Ernest and Celestine, directed by Benjamin Renner, Vincent Patar, Stéphane Aubier and Stéphan Roelants.
This is the first time that Luxembourg received this award.
The majority of animation work was carried out in the animation studio of Contern (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg).
The story turns around an unlikely friendship between a bear, Ernest, who does not want to be a lawyer, and a young mouse named Celestine who in her turn does not want to work as a dentist.
