Minister Jean Asselborn in the United Arab Emirates

Following an invitation of the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn, paid a working visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on Monday 9 September 2013.

Deputy Prime Minister Asselborn met with the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, and also with the Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

The meeting reviewed the state of bilateral relations, both politically and economically, with the country whose relations have intensified following the opening of a Luxembourg Embassy in Abu Dhabi on 20 November 2011.

Meetings enabled ministers to review regional and international politics, and focus particularly on recent initiatives on the peace process in the Middle East, as well as recent developments in Egypt and Syria.
