Minister-President of Rhineland-Palatinate visits Luxembourg

On 31 May 2013, Minister-President of Rhineland-Palatinate Malu Dreyer paid a visit to Luxembourg.

She was received by Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, the Minister of the Interior and the Greater Region, Jean-Marie Halsdorf, and the Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, Claude Wiseler.

Jean-Claude Juncker highlighted the good relations between Luxembourg and Rhineland-Palatinate, which is an «important neighbor» to the Grand Duchy.

Beside the Greater Region, Jean-Claude Juncker and Malu Dreyer also discussed current European policy issues. In this context, the Prime Minister explained in detail the development of the European policy of Luxembourg, especially in finance and taxation. «This also applies to the Rhineland-Palatinate, as all border 26000 days in this region come to work in the Grand Duchy and many of them work in the banking sector.»

The agenda of the meeting included among other issues traffic, emergency services, planning of hospitals and train tickets for students.
