The inauguration of a new building of the European Court of Auditors
On May 8, 2013 the official inauguration of the new building of the European Court of Auditors in Kirchberg was celebrated in the presence of the Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, Vitor Caldeira, the President of the European Court of Auditors, as well as John Perry, the Minister of State of Ireland.
Luxembourg Prime Minister Juncker: «The European Court of Auditors is actually the Court of European citizens and taxpayers and, as such, its audit mission is more vital than ever. Its new building in Luxembourg-Kirchberg is therefore a sound investment in the future. The European Court of Auditors, which was created in 1975, has the primary role of to externally check if the budget of EU has been implemented correctly, in that EU funds have been spent legally and with sound management.
