University of Luxembourg’s 10th anniversary celebrations
Luxembourg University celebrated its landmark 10th anniversary on Saturday with a series of rousing speeches, videos and a new relationship with a university in Prague.
The event, hosted at the Cercle Municipal in Luxembourg City, was a chance to look back over the achievements and challenges faced by the institution so far as well as casting an ambitious look into the future.
Opening the speeches, University President Ralf Tarrach outlined his dreams for the university: that by its 30th anniversary it appears in the Times Higher Education top 100 universities under 50 years old ranking.
The event was attended by Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria-Teresa, Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich, Agricultural Minister Romain Schneider, Higher Education Minister Martine Hansen, EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding and former European Commission President Jacques Santer, Russian Ambassador M.Entin.
