Visit of the French speaking Honorary Consuls of Luxembourg
At the invitation of Foreign Minister, Jean Asselborn, French honorary consuls of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Monaco and Malta paid a visit to Luxembourg from September 8 to 10, 2013.
This visit was an opportunity to discuss relations with the countries where honorary consuls are based, about the activities in various economic sectors as well as the promotion of Luxembourg abroad.
To this end, the honorary consuls had the opportunity to discuss these issues with the Minister of Culture Octavie Modert and Minister of the Middle Classes and Tourism Françoise Hetto-Gaash.
The economy and finance were the main topics of a roundtable held at the Chamber of Commerce in the presence of Finance Minister Luc Frieden, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Etienne Schneider, the CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, Nicolas Mackel, and the Director General of the Chamber of Commerce, Pierre Gramegna.
Honorary consuls were also received in audience at the Grand Ducal Palace by HRH Hereditary Grand Duke.
Honorary consuls also had the opportunity to visit Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine which was the first of the new buildings of the University of Luxembourg to move to the Cité des Sciences in Esch-Belval. In addition, honorary consuls visited SES, the main operator of global satellite systems.
