Working visit of Jean Asselborn to the United States
On July 16 Foreign Minister of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn paid a working visit to the United States. In Washington he met with his counterpart, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
Foreign ministers’ talks were devoted to discussing the bilateral relations and major issues of contemporary European and international politics, in particular the future of transatlantic relations, the Iran’s nuclear program and the conflict in the Middle East.
During his visit to Washington J.Asselborn also met with Deputy U.S. Trade Representative M.Punke for the detailed discussion of the economic and financial ties between the United States and the Grand Duchy. The meeting was also devoted to the signing of the Transatlantic trade and investment partnership between the U.S. and the EU (TTIP).
