Xavier Bettel at the informal dinner of Heads of State and Government of the European Union in Brussels
The Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel attended the informal dinner of Heads of State and Government of the European Union, which was held on May 27, 2014 in Brussels.
The European Council President Herman Van Rompuy called on Heads of State and Government to analyze the results of the European elections that took place last week. This meeting was an opportunity to decide on the procedure for the appointment of the President of the European Commission. In this context, a discussion was also conducted on the future challenges for the European Union, as well as the priorities for the coming years. The political situation in Ukraine after the presidential elections of May 25, 2014 was also discussed at the meeting of Heads of State and Government.
Upstream of the informal meeting of Heads of State and Government, Xavier Bettel attended the meeting of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE).
The Prime Minister attended a meeting of the three Prime Ministers of Benelux, chaired by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
