Ukrainian forces launched another artillery attack on the city of Gorlovka in Ukraine’s southeast, the representative of the city administration told RIA Novosti Saturday.

«The shelling started at four o’clock in the morning (01:00 GMT), and lasted about 40 minutes. Parts of the village Rumyantsevo were hit, private parts. According to preliminary information, there are destruction and fire. Information about the victims are to be confirmed,» the representative said.

On August 1, seven people were killed and 19 others were injured in Gorlovka amid continuing shelling by Ukrainian forces.

On July 31, the Gorlovka mayoral office said that at least 164 people, including 16 children, in the city have died in shelling conducted by Ukrainian forces in the past half a year. About 500 others were injured in the same period.

Violence in Ukraine’s southeast continues despite the February ceasefire agreement signed by representatives of Kiev and the self-proclaimed people’s republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in the Belarusian capital, Minsk.

Both Kiev and DPR and LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic) have repeatedly accused each other of ceasefire violations.

According to UN estimates, fighting in eastern Ukraine, which started in mid-April 2014, has killed over 6,500 people.
